So, I learned through the grapevine that the Jersey Shore idiots make $2.55 million a year; Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and Paul “Pauly D” DelVecchio. Just for grins, let’s compare that with the following professions: Harvard Professor (tenured): $250,000 NASA Astronaut (GS-13): $100,701 President of the United States: $569,000 (with restrictions) I know, I know…complaining about it doesn’t make things any better but “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?” Have we fallen so far as a country that these *ssholes can earn this type of money by offending our core sensibilities on a weekly basis? That’s right, it’s “reality” television and everyone loves this type of banal programming. Sadly, I’m not surprised in the least with these numbers but c’mon, can’t we at least look like we’re trying to be a civilized, educated society? Don’t answer that, because I already know the answer. Now if you will excuse me, I’m going to spend the rest of this afternoon perusing Ulta, then a quick trip to Planet Tan and cap-off the evening at Ghostbar making a complete fool of myself. If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.
